La metodología de la investigación fue de enfoque cuantitativa de nivel descriptiva con diseño descriptivo simple, teniendo una población y muestra que considera la totalidad de alumnos que son 70 niños de 4 y 5 años, para el proceso de recolección de datos se ha empleado como técnica de recolección, la observación y como instrumentos la ficha de observación. El estudio concluye: El nivel de autonomía en el juego libre de los niños de 4 y 5 años del distrito de Huaccana, Chincheros – Apurímac, refleja un desarrollo elevado en cuanto a la capacidad de actuar de forma independiente durante las actividades lúdicas. Asimismo, el 64.29% de los niños se ubica en el nivel “Alto”, lo cual indica que la mayoría logra elegir materiales, decidir cómo jugar y desenvolverse sin depender de la guía del adulto. En contraste, el 21.43% se encuentra en el nivel “Bajo”, lo que sugiere una autonomía limitada, necesitando constantemente orientación externa. Solo el 14.29% se sitúa en el nivel “Medio”, mostrando una autonomía parcial en momentos determinados. Estos hallazgos resaltan la importancia de promover entornos que estimulen la autodeterminación de los niños desde la infancia.The primary objective of this research study was to describe the manifestation of autonomy in free play among 4- and 5-year-old children in educational institutions in the district of Huaccana, province of Chincheros, Apurímac region. The research methodology employed a quantitative, descriptive approach with a simple descriptive design. The population and sample comprised all 70 children aged 4 and 5 years. For data collection, observation was used as the technique, and an observation sheet served as the instrument. The study concludes: The level of autonomy in free play among 4- and 5-year-old children in the Huaccana district, Chincheros – Apurímac, reflects a high level of development in terms of the ability to act independently during play activities. Likewise, 64.29% of the children are at the “High” level, indicating that most are able to choose materials, decide how to play, and manage on their own without relying on adult guidance. In contrast, 21.43% are at the “Low” level, suggesting limited autonomy and a constant need for external guidance. Only 14.29% fall into the “Medium” category, showing partial autonomy at certain times.
