La presente investigación titulada: Uso del quipu para desarrollar la noción de números en niños de la Institución Educativa Inicial "San Juan de Miraflores" Huanta, 2024, tuvo como objetivo determinar la influencia del uso del quipu en el desarrollo de la noción de números en una población censal de 18 niños de 5 años de la I.E.I. N.° 429-25 "San Juan de Miraflores", Huanta. La investigación fue de tipo aplicada, de nivel experimental y empleó un diseño pre-experimental con pre y pos-test en un solo grupo. Para la recolección de datos, se utilizaron la técnica de observación y una ficha de observación validada por juicio de expertos (94%) con una confiabilidad de 0,801 según Alfa de Cronbach. Los hallazgos descriptivos evidenciaron una transformación radical: la variable general pasó de un 77,8% "en proceso" y 22,2% "en inicio" a un 100% de éxito en el pos-test, con un 72,2% en logro esperado y 27,8% en destacado. Específicamente, en la dimensión correspondencia se alcanzó un 77,8% de logro destacado; en clasificación un 61,1% de logro esperado; y en seriación un 72,2% de logro esperado, revirtiéndose así los niveles deficitarios previos. Los resultados inferenciales, procesados mediante la prueba de Wilcoxon, arrojaron un valor Z=−3,898 y una significancia de p=0,000 (p<0,05), lo que permitió rechazar la hipótesis nula. Se concluyó que el uso del quipu influyó significativamente en desarrollar la noción numérica en los estudiantes de la institución ya mencionada.
This research, titled "Use of the Quipu to Develop the Concept of Number in Children at the San Juan de Miraflores, Huanta, 2024," aimed to determine the influence of using the quipu on the development of the concept of number among a census population of eighteen 5-year-old children at I.E.I. No. 429-25 "San Juan de Miraflores" in Huanta. The study was applied research of an experimental nature, employing a pre-experimental design with a single-group pre-test and post-test. Data collection involved the observation technique and an observation checklist validated by expert judgment (94% agreement), with a reliability of 0.801 according to Cronbach's alpha. Descriptive findings revealed a radical transformation: the general variable shifted from 77.8% "in process" and 22.2% "at the initial stage" to a 100% success rate in the post-test, with 72.2% reaching the "expected achievement" level and 27.8% reaching the "outstanding achievement" level. Specifically, regarding the dimensions analyzed, 77.8% achieved an "outstanding" level in correspondence; 61.1% achieved the "expected" level in classification; and 72.2% achieved the "expected" level in seriation, thereby reversing previous deficit levels. Inferential results, processed using the Wilcoxon test, yielded a Z-value of −3.898 and a significance level of p=0.000 (p<0.05), allowing for the rejection of the null hypothesis. It was concluded that the use of the quipu significantly influenced the development of the concept of number among the students at the aforementioned institution.
