El proyecto tendrá como propósito central comprender cómo los hábitos de lectura podrán influir en el rendimiento académico de los estudiantes del V ciclo de la Institución Educativa N.° 38704 Manitea, ubicada en La Convención, durante el año 2025. La intención es acercarse a la realidad cotidiana de los estudiantes y analizar de qué manera leer con mayor frecuencia, disfrutar la lectura o contar con apoyo familiar podría reflejarse en un mejor desempeño escolar. Para lograr este objetivo, se desarrollará un estudio con enfoque cuantitativo, de tipo básico y con un diseño no experimental, pues se observarán los fenómenos tal como ocurren en su contexto natural. El nivel de estudio será correlacional, ya que se buscará identificar la relación entre las variables sin manipularlas. La muestra estará conformada por 81 estudiantes, quienes participarán respondiendo cuestionarios sobre sus hábitos de lectura. Al mismo tiempo, el rendimiento académico se evaluará a partir de los registros escolares proporcionados por la institución. El análisis de los datos se realizará mediante la prueba estadística Tau-b de Kendall, con un nivel de significancia de 0.05. Este procedimiento permitirá estimar la fuerza y el sentido de la relación entre los hábitos lectores y el desempeño escolar. A través de este proceso, se espera obtener una comprensión más detallada del papel que desempeñan aspectos como la frecuencia con la que se lee, la actitud frente a la lectura y la motivación que brinda la familia. Se prevé que los resultados del proyecto sirvan como una base sólida para diseñar e implementar estrategias educativas que fomenten la lectura en el aula y también en el hogar. La intención es contribuir a que los estudiantes no solo mejoren su rendimiento académico, sino que también desarrollen un vínculo positivo con la lectura como herramienta para su crecimiento personal y académico.
The project will aim to understand how reading habits may influence the academic performance of students in the 5th cycle at Educational Institution No. 38704 Manitea, located in La Convención, during the year 2025. The intention is to explore students’ daily experiences and analyze how reading more often, enjoying reading, or receiving support at home may be reflected in better school achievement. To accomplish this purpose, the study will follow a quantitative approach, with a basic research type and a non-experimental design, since the variables will be observed in their natural context without manipulation. The study will be correlational, as it will seek to identify the relationship between the variables. The sample will include 81 students, who will participate by answering questionnaires about their reading habits. At the same time, academic performance will be evaluated using official school records provided by the institution. Data analysis will be carried out using the Kendall Tau-b statistical test, with a significance level of 0.05. This method will allow the project to estimate the strength and direction of the relationship between reading habits and students’ academic outcomes. Through this analysis, the project expects to gain a clearer understanding of how factors such as reading frequency, attitude toward reading, and family motivation may play a role in academic performance. It is expected that the results of the project will provide a solid basis for designing and implementing educational strategies that promote reading both at school and at home. The goal is not only to help students improve their academic performance but also to encourage them to develop a positive and meaningful relationship with reading as a tool for their personal and academic growth.
